The purple pod of a wild autumn vine. Ripe ones split down one side to show the pale flesh inside — sweet enough to eat as it is, with a thick rind the kitchen can stuff and cook.
Usage
Foraged in the hills
Look for vines wound around forest trunks and pick the deeply coloured pods. The vine stays where it is and bears again in time.
