Ecological basis
Sesame is an annual native to the Indian subcontinent and the seasonally dry tropics. Windswept savannas represent warm, dry uplands, while sunflower plains represent sunny farmland suited to this tall, drought-tolerant oilseed.
Usage
Leave room for two blocks
Indoors, leave two blocks of air above the farmland. Under a low ceiling sesame stays one block high and never sets seed.
Replant or press
The harvest is both the seed for the next field and the raw material for sesame oil. Keep a planting share before taking the rest to the press.
